What I love about my life - a random assortment

>> Wednesday, August 5, 2009

* I'm married to a man who is also my best friend and who thinks I'm cute and funny all the time (even if I'm not)

* I live in a house in the city that doesn't feel like a house in the city. I just came back in from walking the dog and it was completely quiet and there wasn't a soul in sight. The sound of my feet walking back up our gravel driveway made me feel as if I was walking up to a cottage in the woods or something.

* Because I'm a "nice girl", I can occasionally yell, act out, or tell someone to "F-off", and for the most part, no one will hold it against me

* I have a lot of acquaintances, but only a handful of really good friends. We've all known each other for ages, so even if we haven't seen each other in awhile, we're able to get into the rhythm of things quickly and there's never any bs or pretending to be someone we're not

* I have a job where sometimes I don't have to go to work 'till late in the afternoon, which means I get to sleep in!!

* my dog, Franklin (aka Mr.Frank, Frankers, Frankerdoodle)

* I've gotten the chance to do some pretty cool things and travel to some cool places

* 99.9% of the time, I can get along or have a decent conversation with anyone

* Even in my darkest of times, one of my strongest beliefs (that everything happens for a reason) keeps me moving forward

* I can see, hear, smell, talk

* I can sing, and not to toot my own horn, but I can sing pretty damn well

* Songwriting is ridiculously easy for me

* I have always been provided for - meaning I do not lack in anything. I have always had shelter, food, clothing, love, room to explore faith and spirituality freely

* My imagination has not diminshed at all as I've grown up. I have the imagination of an 8-year old (and use it all the time)

* I always have hope, and deep down know that everything can always improve and get even better

* I can have ice cubes in my drinks whenever I want (I didn't realize my true love of ice cubes until I went to Uganda . . . Ice cubes don't exist in Uganda).

* My family pushes me to do better and to always keep growing (they may not realize this but it's true)

* as I have gotten older, I have lost the need to hide my true level of goofiness. At home, at work, wherever - the goofiness is out in full effect

* I have more books in my house than I know what to do with

* I live in a world where anything is possible

* I have really vivid dreams

* My mom was a prenatal nurse and lactation consultant (this will come in really handy when I have a baby)!

* I can go on the Internet and find out pretty much anything in the matter of a few seconds

* I can stay up until almost 2 in the morning blogging about it!

Such a warm, fuzzy post. I didn't know that about your mom!
