No, I'm not actually . . .

>> Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I win for most horrible moment of the day. A co-worker (a lady probably in her early fifties) came up to me at work today, put her hand on my stomach and asked me how I was doing with a "knowing" smile on her face.

WTF!! I'm not pregnant thank-you very much, I just had a little post-lunch bloating!! And yes, I know I've put on some extra poundage lately, but give me a break! Doesn't everyone know by now that one thing you never do, is assume someone is pregnant??!!

Horrifying, absolutely horrifying. In all honesty, I know I haven't been taking the best care of myself and have been meaning to get back in shape. But while I have needed a kick in the pants to get started, I would have preferred it to be a nice little tap instead of the "are you pregnant" (i.e. "cause your stomach is huge") foot in the arse.

Hahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha!!!!!!
Suzanne! I just burst out laughing at work! That's happened to me before, and it is so mortifying! I just want to die when it happens, but glad to know I am not the only one in the world. I have serious bloating issues after meals-- so dont even sweat it! You look great, always!

Love,
-Sara

Ugh. I'm sure your stomach isn't huge. You look awesome in the few pictures I've seen of you. What did you say to her? Unfortunately, I've had that happen to me too. What I don't get is the touching part. Since when was it okay to touch someone's stomach without asking first? Even if they are pregnant...? Shrug.

oh geez, you SO do not look pregnant! Take some comfort in knowing that no matter how humiliating it was for you, it was 10x worse for your co-worker!!

Oh Suzanne....I am laughing as well! But imagine how she felt?!
You should have told her that you were full of gas ..."so watch out!"

Remind me to tell you of an incident that I had at CVH..being interviewed (along with others)..& one of "others" referred to me as "an older antenatal "mom-to-be"!! What REALLY made me upset was that I was wearing a firm control undergarment & DYING!!! I will share more details..next time.

LOVE you always!!
Mom
